Through the rolling hills of Shaftesbury down into the village of Ludwell local girl Nina Bartlett found her perfect chocolate box Inn. Having trained in law Nina decided to swap the commercial rush for village life - you can take the country girl out of the country but you will never take the country life out of the girl and so it began accompanied by her Jack Russell, George.
Join Nina and her young aspiring team at The Grove for fantastic food including fresh seasonal specials, fine Badger Ales brewed by Hall and Woodhouse which travels only a short distance from the brewery in Blandford to the Grove.
The Grove is a retreat for all and has fast become the hub of Ludwell life with many joining the team for special occasions, a Sunday roast, a weeklong escape or simply a cosy drink in our village bar where you will find many a local relaxing with a pint.
We have fantastic amenities at the Grove with free Wi-Fi throughout, a residents lounge, sun terrace to the rear and 6 4* AA rated bedrooms.
Locals, Visitors, Walkers, Hikers, Pilots (from the local airfield) Dogs and Children alike are all welcome through our doors, we are perfectly situated for a long days walking through the beautiful villages in the Donhead Valley.
Please note furry friends are also welcome to stay in our pet friendly 4* AA rated bedrooms but please leave all cats at home - George our resident Jack Russell is partial to the odd one or two for his dinner!!

New to the Grove is our Country Room, what is this I hear you all ask? It is a secure room for any guns to be stored, wet clothes to be dried and wellies to be housed securely away from the public eye. This makes us the perfect choice as a rural retreat following a day`s shooting on one of the many local estates or simply perfect for walkers to store their belongings in safety ready to dry for another days walking the next day - nothing worse than soggy boots!
The team at the Grove are all female and we believe this makes our attention to detail exquisite. Nothing is any trouble to us and our returning guests do become part of the Grove family.
The Grove hosts 6 4* AA rated letting bedrooms under its cosy thatch to keep you warm and dry.
With Nina`s farming background the heart to the Grove`s menu is a wide offering, sourced locally direct from the producer to offer varied dishes with the ethos of something for everyone no matter what the occasion.
