For your convenience, there is plenty of free parking in our hotel car park, located directly in front of the Hotel.
With a superb menu of both a la carte and grill cuisine, the Olive Tree Restaurant provides guests with a fine dining experience that is perfect for romantic meals and special occasions. All of our food is sourced from local suppliers wherever possible and meals are prepared on site by our talented team of chefs. Accompanying the main menu is a hand-selected wine list - our waiting staff will be more than happy to recommend a wine to complement your chosen dish.

The Basics
The Durrant House Hotel offers all the facilities one would expect from a luxury hotel. Choose from either a standard or superior room, a double Jacuzzi or four-poster suite or stay in style in our top Appledore suite with views over the estuary, two bathrooms a double Jacuzzi and spacious living room. All rooms have en-suite marble bathrooms, tea/coffee making facilities, Hairdryers, laundry service, clock radios, TV, quality white bed linen and towels as standard. Our luxury suites in addition have white bathrobes and slippers, luxury toiletries, wall mounted flat screen TV’s with built in digital receivers, iron and ironing board and fireplaces to snuggle up to.

For dining choose from our Appledore bar serving a brasserie style menu of English classic dishes and popular international cuisine, or for more formal dining, The Olive Tree restaurant offers an exceptional A La Carte menu, freshly cooked to order using the finest local produce, accompanied by a well-priced selection of wines to compliment the menu. The Olive Tree restaurant is a very romantic setting with oak-panelled walls, crisp white table linen, candlelight and fresh flowers on each table. A room service menu is also available if you prefer to dine in the privacy and comfort of your room.

A large outdoor swimming pool, with water fountains is situated to the rear of the hotel in the lush tropical gardens, also available is a sky-room gym, sauna and sun-shower. We also have a new facility opening shortly providing hairdressing, massage and beauty treatments.

For the security of our guests there are CCTV cameras throughout the public areas of the hotel and car park. A public telephone is available for guests use along with WIFI internet access.

The hotel is fully compliant with disabled facilities, offering ramped access to the dining areas and reception, a lift which comfortably take a wheelchair and carer with luggage and fully equipt disabled rooms, located next to the lift. We welcome guests with their dogs at the hotel, but accommodation would be in our ground floor standard rooms only. Children are most welcome and we can provide high chairs and travel cots if required.

Travelling
The hotel is approximately one hour’s drive from the M5 motorway. Exit the motorway at Junction 27 to Barnstaple and Tiverton. Take the third exit off the roundabout onto the A361. Remain on this road until the outskirts of Barnstaple. The next roundabout will direct you onto a left exit, the A39 to Bideford and Bude. Take this road and remain on it until you cross the new Torridge estuary bridge and then at the next roundabout, take the third exit to Westward Ho! and Appledore. The hotel is approximately 500 yards along this road on the right hand side.

If travelling by train, take the train to Exeter St Davids station and then change here for the Tarka Line which runs to Barnstaple. Alight at Barnstaple and there is a regular bus service directly to Bideford, alternatively taxis are available on the rank. If travelling by coach, National Express provide a service from London Heathrow Airport and central London to Bideford.

Feast your eyes and then your taste buds on our delicious A La Carte and Grill menus served in the Olive Tree Restaurant. This elegant fine dining restaurant in Bideford provides the ideal surroundings for a romantic dinner for two, or a group of four or more looking for a memorable experience.

Victorian oak-panelled splendour lit with candlelight over-looking the inner courtyard garden and fountain, our restaurant setting never fails to please the eye. Fresh flowers, fine wines and a AA rosette Chef cooking all dishes to order from locally sourced suppliers using Devon's finest produce completes this dining experience.

All of our dishes from the bar menu serving simpler, easy eating, lighter meals to our well balanced, gourmet a la carte menu are all produced from scratch by our team of talented Chefs, all dishes are cooked to order, maximising their individual flavours and freshness. Menus change with the seasons to take advantage of what is best and local to us at any given time of the year.
