Ideally situated about 20 minutes walk or a short car ride from Chester. The Oaklands was converted from an old police station many years ago and fully refurbished to a high standard in August 2008. You will find us in a very tranquil part of Chester with an equally relaxed atmosphere inside the pub for dining and drinking. Now a contemporary styled venue, we are mostly open plan with a sumptuous colour scheme of dark aubergine, mushroom colours and rich browns. There are fireplaces surrounded by leather tub chairs, big high backed chairs and a sofa, so you can relax alone or with friends. A selection of our champagnes and wines can be chosen from our feature wine wall. Good food is served every day, from a varied main menu with many offers on a selection of favourites. A Sunday Carvery, with a selection of roasts to choose from, is now available and must be tried. The oak beams, the half-timbered facade and the roaring log fires have all been retained and contribute to the character and ambience of the pub.
In 1985, the garages at the rear of the pub were converted, providing impressive accommodation with eight double, en-suite rooms. The bedrooms were created by top London designer Michael Priest of Belgravia, who is also the interior designer for Raymond Blanc's 'Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons' and Inverlockie Castle.
