Rooms from 59.00 GBP | Matt, Jess and the rest of the team welcome you to the Helyar Arms. Set in the idyllic Somerset village of East Coker, Near Yeovil, the Helyar Arms is a charming 15th century inn, serving real food, and providing a friendly and relaxing atmosphere for all to enjoy. We hope you enjoy our traditional village inn, parts of which date back to the 15th century. We like to keep it as rustic and relaxed as possible, and instead of sports television, amusement machines and formula food, we offer an open log fire, traditional skittle alley and real food at honest prices. Unlike most pubs that rely on frozen and/or pre-prepared products in their cooking, virtually all our food is made on the premises from first principles, including stocks and sauces, ice cream and chutneys. It is also prepared to order, so if you are in a hurry, please let us know so that we can assist your selection of those items that are quickest to prepare (a well-done 12oz steak can take 40 minutes to cook and rest properly). Several members of our team have won national awards. You’ll find details of their achievements displayed around the pub. We’re passionate about the quality of food, wine and ales we serve, and what we don’t grow ourselves, we source locally and in season whenever possible. You’ll find a list of our favourite suppliers below, and if you’re great at hunting, catching or growing things that are good to eat, we’d be delighted to take them off your hands in exchange for a drink or meal with us. The well equipped bar here at the the Helyar Arms, serves a wide variety of real ales, and has an extensive wine and spirit list. We have six en-suite bedrooms of a very high standard. We can accommodate individuals, couples and families, in characterful rooms with all the amenities you would expect from a modern hotel. In the morning, we serve a choice of Continental or full English breakfast – take your pick, it’s included in the price of your room.
