Rooms from 56.50 GBP | Historic Soulton Hall is a striking country house in the intriguing, unspoilt county of Shropshire. Still cherished as the family home of the Ashtons for over 450 years, it combines the comfort of a luxury Country House Hotel with a friendly and distinctly personal approach.
Soulton Hall enjoys a unique location: approached over an ancient stone bridge crossing a babbling brook in glorious Shropshire countryside. Beyond Soulton Hall's tranquil walled gardens lies 500 acres of private country estate and woodland.
The converted Soulton Court was built in 1783 as stables and its stone-flagged floor, and beams make it an ideal venue for private dining, weddings and conferences.
Our menu changes every day and uses as much home produce as possible (such as game, fruit, and honey from our own hives); indeed it is common for our guests to be able to glance out of the window at the garden in which ingredients in their meal were grown.
The Ashton family and their staff look forward to welcoming you here. |

Rooms from 95.00 GBP | The Radnorshire Arms is a warm and welcoming, family run hotel which lies at the heart of Radnorshire's old county town, Presteigne (Llanandras in Welsh, meaning 'the church of St Andrew').
Scant yards from the English border and nestled amidst rolling hills and wonderful open countryside, this Grade II listed building, with its wealth of original exposed beams and timber panelled walls, exudes an atmosphere of luxurious comfort and classic Jacobean elegance.
The hotel today is as rich in amenities as its 16th century structure is in history. With 19 rooms, all fully equipped to the highest standards, 2 restaurants, a residents' lounge, traditional bar and large garden, the Radnorshire Arms can accommodate individuals, couples, families and larger groups in relaxed and spacious surroundings.
We have extended our Public Wi-Fi network to include all of the 'Internal Rooms'. We have also posted our "Access Statement", detailing the availability of all rooms for guests with special mobility requirements.
"The Resisdent's Lounge"
Whilst not a guest room as such, the Resident's Lounge lies at the top of the stairs to the first floor, and would probably have been the Master Bedroom when the original house was built over 500 years ago. This high, spacious room has a large bay window that overlooks the main garden, and windows to the front. A small side room sits above the hotel's main porch, and leading off of this is the 'priest hole' mentioned on our History Page. A pleasant place to sit and relax, with a generous selection of games and books provided, this is also used as a meeting room, or as a place for small private functions and informal corporate occasions.
