It stayed in the same hands until purchased by the Mansell family in the 1930's. From this time it was run as a hotel apart from a five-year break during the German Occupation. Close by there are many other tourist attractions such as Candie Gardens and Museum, Castle Cornet, and Victor Hugo's home. Daily trips to Herm, Sark, Jersey and Alderney by ferry, or to Alderney and Jersey by air.
The Dunchoille has twenty four en suite bedrooms, which are comfortably furnished with colour television, central heating and tea and coffee making facilities.
