The Pilgrims rest has a rich and fascinating history. In the early 19th century, the building was home to a farrier, whose forge stood next door. As recently as the early 1900s, part of the building was a butcher’s.
Today, the property has been carefully restored and sensitively refurbished by your hosts, Gerard and Denise McNicholas. There are now 6 en suite rooms with all the comforts the modern traveller requires, including tea/coffee making facilities and flat-screen TVs with Freeview digital channels. Each room also has a work desk and ironing facilities are available..
The Pilgrims Rest also features a bar and lounge area.

In the centre of Littlebourne, on the A257 main road, only 4 miles (6.5 km) south of Canterbury, the Pilgrims Rest makes a good base, whatever your reason for visiting the area.

The St Crispin Inn is a 15th century traditional pub which also offers quiet en suite B&B accommodation with free WiFi internet access. It is located in the small country village of Word in Worth, only a mile or so from the mediaeval cinque port of Sandwich, in an area that was notorious for smugglers, who were known to frequent the Inn.
The St Crispin has seen many changes over the years but its historic character remains unchanged. We often get told we are the best Bed and Breakfast in Sandwich and the surrounding area.
Enjoy traditional beers and continental lagers alongside tasty home cooked food for all the family. Seafood and steaks being our speciality.
We look forward to offering you a friendly welcome here at the St Crispin Inn. We are proud to present the restaurant to our customers with it's light and warm decor and air conditioning. The scene is set to enjoy some good traditional English food and you will notice the menu is designed with Kent and the English countryside as its main theme.
We are very keen on fresh fish and present a diverse range for you to enjoy.
From our local butcher we have scrumptious and tender steaks and from local suppliers we try and harvest the best Kent and England has to offer in vegetables, dairy and all other produce.
The team in the kitchen is lead by our Head Chef Claire Hale and the team are always keen to create dishes and present the best food to you for your enjoyment.
We recommend that customers book tables for the restaurant to avoid disappointment.
The St Crispin Inn offers quiet Bed and Breakfast in Sandwich area, with 4 star accommodation and is therefore ideal for golf during the week or weekend (only 5 minutes drive from St George's, Prince's and Royal Cinque Port's Golf clubs).
