Inside the house guests can marvel at the original oak panel carvings of the Paneled Room or at the fantastic ceiling mural by Julian Bell commissioned by the owners of the House. The garden is a town centre oasis with its lawn-sculptures and traditional English flower beds. Our rooms have been individually designed to blend the best of modern fittings-contemporary design and comfort whilst preserving many of the original historic features of the building. Pelham House can accommodate up to 62 guests in a range of 32 Twin and Double rooms-all beautifully decorated and some benefiting from marvelous views over our pretty south-facing garden framed by views towards the South Downs. All rooms feature comfortable beds with crisp white linen and are fitted with contemporary handmade oak furniture. We aim to provide our guests with perfect facilities to enjoy their stay and these include remote control TV-phone and high speed data point. All rooms offer an en-suite bath or luxury shower room with a range of natural toiletries. The main house has rooms on the ground-first and second floors-most of which overlook the garden and have views of the South Downs. The newly converted Mews rooms are fresh-comfortable and original-retaining most of the original features of the building. Pelham House is conveniently located only a 2 minute walk from Lewes Train Station-making it convenient for London-Gatwick Airport-Eastbourne-Brighton-Chichester-Goodwood-Brighton and Plumpton Racecourses. each room is individually themed (see www.blanchhouse.co.uk for more details) with trevi power showers and molton brown toiletries. the rooms also include: reylon beds, fogarty goose and duck down duvets and pillows, hairdryers, direct dial telephones, blanch house mineral water and tea and coffee making facilities. all rooms have flat screen tv's and combi dvd/cd players. a range of dvd's and cd's are available to borrow (free of charge) from reception. flowers, champagne and a range of pampering options (eg. massages) can be arranged on request.
our restaurant and cocktail bar are open to non-residents throughout the week – booking ahead is usually recommended – especially on weekends! the award-winning cocktail bar offers an eclectic range of superbly made cocktails from the best bar team in the uk (class magazine 2005). lunch (£18 two courses/£22 three courses) is available tuesday through sunday and dinner (£25/£30) is available tuesday – saturday in the fully air-conditioned restaurant.
