The Car Park is at the rear of the building with its entrance on Albert Road North. The entrance is sloped and therefore it is best to drive in using first gear and keeping the revs low so that the gravel covering does not cause your vehicle to wheel spin and scatter the gravel across the road. To unload heavy cases it is advisable to park at the front of the building and then move the car to the car park after registration at the Guest House.

The Radnorshire Arms Hotel, Presteigne

The Radnorshire Arms Hotel
High Street, Presteigne

Rooms from 95.00 GBP
The Radnorshire Arms is a warm and welcoming, family run hotel which lies at the heart of Radnorshire's old county town, Presteigne (Llanandras in Welsh, meaning 'the church of St Andrew'). Scant yards from the English border and nestled amidst rolling hills and wonderful open countryside, this Grade II listed building, with its wealth of original exposed beams and timber panelled walls, exudes an atmosphere of luxurious comfort and classic Jacobean elegance. The hotel today is as rich in amenities as its 16th century structure is in history. With 19 rooms, all fully equipped to the highest standards, 2 restaurants, a residents' lounge, traditional bar and large garden, the Radnorshire Arms can accommodate individuals, couples, families and larger groups in relaxed and spacious surroundings. We have extended our Public Wi-Fi network to include all of the 'Internal Rooms'. We have also posted our "Access Statement", detailing the availability of all rooms for guests with special mobility requirements. "The Resisdent's Lounge" Whilst not a guest room as such, the Resident's Lounge lies at the top of the stairs to the first floor, and would probably have been the Master Bedroom when the original house was built over 500 years ago. This high, spacious room has a large bay window that overlooks the main garden, and windows to the front. A small side room sits above the hotel's main porch, and leading off of this is the 'priest hole' mentioned on our History Page. A pleasant place to sit and relax, with a generous selection of games and books provided, this is also used as a meeting room, or as a place for small private functions and informal corporate occasions. The Guest Rooms Below is a complete description of all of our rooms. The list includes a photograph, room type and occupuncy details, location, room name and additional notes. All of our rooms are named after interesting or notable local villages or towns (with one exception), and links within the descriptions lead to more information on a particular place, event or person.

Llangoed Hall
Llyswen, Brecon

Rooms from 95.00 GBP
Formerly known as Llangoed Castle, the Hall is set in seventeen acres of Garden and Parkland in the valley of the River Wye, nine miles west of the picturesque Hay On Wye. According to the late Sir Clough William Ellis, the celebrated Welsh Architect, there appears to have been a house on this site since 560 AD. It is said that the First Welsh Parliament was held here. Subsequently the building became for several centuries an Episcopal grange, only to be largely rebuilt in 1632 by Sir Henry Williams in the classic Jacobean Manor House Style. Sir Henrys Coat of Arms can still be seen over the South Porch. During Regency times, the Williams family lost the property to a John McNamara in a gambling bout. It was Mrs Christy who commissioned Clough Williams Ellis to restore and largely redesign the house. The present building was completed in 1919, although parts of the South facing wing including the panelled library dating from 1632 were incorporated. Llangoed was Ellis’ first major commission and preceded Portmerion, his well known Italianate village in
