The nineteenth century Wheatsheaf Inn is situated on the B2184 on the edge of the historic village of Cuckfield. The mainline station of Haywards Heath is a short distance away and offers an excellent service to London in under an hour. Gatwick Airport and the South Coast resort of Brighton are within easy access, together with the City of Chichester and many famous local attractions including Hickstead Showjumping, Wakehurst Place, Glyndebourne Opera House, Ardingly Showground and both Goodwood Racing Venues. We are central for both coastal and countryside excursions. Our Bar and Lounge area is spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The walls are adorned with wonderful old prints of Cuckfield in days gone by and are of great interest to the locals. The very attractive Bar offers an excellent range of Real Ales and a good selection of fine Wines. The Bar is also the perfect place to relax and enjoy one of our Cocktails if that is your pleasure. The kitchen is run by Chef/Proprietor Nik Cobley who takes pleasure in offering a varied Menu using the very best fresh seasonal produce. Top quality ingredients are sourced locally, where possible, from a network of trusted local suppliers and producers built up over the years. Our fish comes direct from Newhaven, our top quality meat and poultry from our local Butcher. Some Beef, however, comes from the Highlands of Scotland. Southdown Lamb from local Downland pastures and seasonal Game from local shoots and Estates. The best quality meat is very important to us. Dishes range from the traditional to the more unusual…something for everyone. A good choice of daily House specials are also available. All our dishes are carefully prepared for your enjoyment. Sunday is a relaxed family day. Children and Dogs are welcome as long as they are both kept under strict control for the comfort of all our guests! Dogs must be on leads and restricted to the Bar area only. We serve delicious freshly cooked traditional Sunday Roasts, including a Vegetarian choice. Great garden space to relax in, away from the road and fenced to keep it safe for your young ones.
