| | Crete isn't that great an island. It's got some beautiful spots, and lost of mythology and history (such as Knossos or the Samaria Gorge) - but sadly that's outshadowed by the miles upon miles of (seemingly unfinished) building sites, squeezed together estates and general tarnishing of the beautiful mountains.
Bali was a real exception though. I only stayed there by chance, but it was one of the most relaxing, happy and peaceful resorts I'd seen traveling round the island. This was my first real 'sun, sea and sand' holiday and I loved it purely becuase Bali was such a lovely, safe, happy village - Uncle Luke |
