Balkh and Kunar
High risk of terrorism, mines, threat of westerners being kidnapped
Azerbaijan:
Avoid: Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding areas
Risk of terrorism, outbreaks of bird flu.
Burundi:
Avoid: all but essential travel to Burundi
Risk of terrorism, crime, armed violence, political attacks.
Cameroon:
Avoid: Border of Chad
Risk of banditry, car jackings, mugging, armed violence.
Chad:
Avoid: all but essential travel to Chad
Political tension, travel restrictions, risk of terrorist activity,

Columbia:
Avoid: Putumayo, Arauca, Nariño, Caqueta, Guaviare and
Norte de Santander, rural areas of Sucre, Bolivar, Choco, Antioquia,
Valle de Cauca, Cauca and Huila, Meta, Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta
including the ‘Lost City'
High risk of terrorism, kidnapping, theft, crime, volcanic activity.
Eritrea:
Avoid: Ethiopian Border, Sudanese Border.

Ethiopia:
Avoid: Gambella Region, Eritrean border (Tigray and Afar), Somalian

Iran:

Avoid: all travel to northern and western Baluchistan,
including the Sui/Dera Bugti and Kohlu areas, the Federally Administered
Tribal Areas, including Waziristan, Swat Valley Region, all border
areas.

Philippines
Avoid: all travel to Mindanao, the Sulu archipelago
including Basilan, Tawi-Tawi and Jolo
High threat of indiscriminate terrorism, insurgency, typhoons.
Russian Federation
Avoid: all travel to Chechnya, Ingushetia, Dagestan,
Budyonnovsky, Levokumsky, Neftekumsky, Stepnovsky and Kurskoy, Stavropol

Avoid: Jaffna peninsula, districts of Trincomalee and
