Fox Inn & Restaurant
1 Eastgate Street , Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, England, IP33 1XX
Hotel Booking Line:  01775 843413

Description

Nestling within the historic grid and conservation area, The Fox Inn and Restaurant is situated beside the Abbey Gardens in Bury St Edmunds, within 2 minutes walk of The Abbey Gardens and Bury St Edmunds Cathedral and the town centre with its mix of national brands and an array of individual independent shops offer a wide range of choice.

Believed to be the oldest Inn in the town, The Fox escaped the ravages of the great fire in Bury of 1608 and has served as a hostelry since it was built in the 15th century, when it was just outside the old East Gate of the town, now depicted only by a sign to the front of the building.

A recent renovation of an original courtyard barn created using local craftsmen and suppliers from Suffolk and Norfolk has now provided luxury accommodation. Crafted from an original period barn adding warmth and charm using natural reclaimed materials, the six rooms are of a good size, individually styled and comfortably furnished with luxury ensuite bathrooms.

Five ground floor rooms have level access; one room has disabled facilities and another is furnished for a family. They have twin, king or super king beds. The first floor Hayloft Suite, ideal for wedding parties (or anyone with romance in mind) is particularly spacious and features a contemporary super king oak four poster bed, twin ended bath and separate double shower room.

All rooms feature bespoke granite topped Suffolk oak furniture, handmade beds from Norfolk with pocket sprung mattresses from Suffolk, flat screen TV and WiFi.

Complimentary natural French toiletries, Egyptian cotton towels, safe (which is wide enough for most laptops), hairdryer, iron & ironing board. Organic Fair Trade tea & coffee and cosy under floor heating are all what you can expect to find in your rooms.

Our Chef 's are here preparing fresh food to tempt you seven days a week. Produce is sourced locally to ensure its freshness and to support other small businesses, we always include organic and fair trade on our menus.

A warm welcome and relaxed, unhurried dining awaits customers. There is always something different to choose from with Chef 's changing specials and these include meat, fish and vegetarian dishes, along with Chef 's delicious desserts. Round off your meal with our Suffolk cheeses and a Fair Trade coffee.

Discount given for single occupancy in the rooms.
