"We chose this hotel as we were going to a local christening. It is not in the centre of Edinburgh, but is quite easy to catch a bus in. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable - but a little too warm overnight. We had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel, where the food was good quality, and the portions very generous. Neither of us managed to finish either meal. I would recommend this hotel for a comfortable friendly stay in good quality accommodation. "

PLEASE NOTE RATES ARE FROM AND TO The Laird & Dog Hotel is situated in the historical village of Lasswade, just a few miles south of Edinburgh, which can be accessed quickly by car or bus. There is plenty of parking for guests, and taxis are plentiful and reasonably priced. The newly built conservatory restaurant is beautifully furnished with rattan style furniture and our meals, whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner, are served in this lovely setting. A full menu is on offer and with daily changing "specials" the food is always fresh, appetising and exciting, ranging from traditional Scottish food to exotic Mexican or Indian dishes. The restaurant is proving increasingly popular with local people and guests alike so booking is advised for dinner in the evenings.
