"Very impressed with this Hotel!! Very friendly and helpful staff. Meals were excellent. Only slight criticism was the toilet being a bit small and the shelf above the sink left no room between it and sink (room 8). Also toilet door had large gap when closed (sliding door) which was a bit embarrassing! Apart from that, enjoyed our stay, as did our guests from Australia. Will certainly use this hotel again though will ask for room with perhaps better toilet arrangements!"

PLEASE NOTE RATES ARE FROM AND TO The Laird & Dog Hotel is situated in the historical village of Lasswade, just a few miles south of Edinburgh, which can be accessed quickly by car or bus. There is plenty of parking for guests, and taxis are plentiful and reasonably priced. The newly built conservatory restaurant is beautifully furnished with rattan style furniture and our meals, whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner, are served in this lovely setting. A full menu is on offer and with daily changing "specials" the food is always fresh, appetising and exciting, ranging from traditional Scottish food to exotic Mexican or Indian dishes. The restaurant is proving increasingly popular with local people and guests alike so booking is advised for dinner in the evenings.
