"My trips to London are infrequent overnight stays connected with work, so I don't look for anything special. As long as I can get a comfortable sleep, with en-suite room facilities and breakfast around 7.00 am, then I will be satisfied. The hotel entrance has a pleasant feel; the staff smile and answer questions if they can, although there is sometimes a little language difficulty. My room was clean although there are surface cracks in the ceiling but I wasn't going to be staring at it all night. Similarly some of the public area decor had a "tired" appearance. However, this was more than compensated for by the bed and breakfast charge, cheap for London and in a relatively popular area, together with the breakfast choices and quiet service by the dining room staff. If I needed to be in London for a few days, I could think of more pricey accommodation with lower standards than the Columbia Hotel, so I would consider a longer stay here. Thanks Tom"
