Hotel Description
One minute from alighting from the train, 15 minutes from the airport, and nestling in the vibrant and modern Highland capital of Scotland, is a true delight, a friendly, welcoming, real Scottish hotel of magnetic character and charm. Guests savour two feasts here: the unmistakable hospitality and classical culinary experience of this grand hotel, and the freedom of one of the least crowded parts of Western Europe the enormous appeal of vibrant Inverness as an outstanding destination base from which to enjoy and savour a veritable kaleidoscope of activities, great shopping, touring and sightseeing opportunities which surround and abound. En-suite bedrooms never naturally featured in the thinking of designers of hotels in the mid 19th century. But they are so crucial to the modern marketplace and the comfort of the modern traveller. The plethora of rooms of all shapes and sizes, however grand, presented a great challenge to the modern hotelier devoted to the personal touch.

Welcome to the Front Hall. To the left of the main stairwell is the Reception desk. Here our staff look forward to welcoming you personally to the Hotel. Enter to the Hotel and be met by Reception which is now located on your left so our staff can welcome you personally to the Hotel. To the right we have our new Cafe/Bar/Restaurant ASH which opened in January 2004. ASH restaurant caters for everyone’s needs, young and old as well as families, this is our contemporary area of the hotel whilst still maintaining the traditional feel in the Gallery area. The impressive main stairwell is thought to be the inspiration for the stairwell in the ballroom on the Titanic, which can be seen below.

Inverness is wonderfully placed to access the very best of Scotland's natural larder, being fed from traditional industries of farming, fishing and of course, whisky making. So naturally our menus place great emphasis on this produce, with its natural quality and depth of flavour. Seafood and locally caught fish feature strongly, as do beef, lamb and game. And our restaurant is quite stunning - another elegant testimony to a bygone era. Our hallmark is traditional friendly service combined with contemporary cuisine without twists or novelties - we make classic combinations as good as they can be.
