The Edward Hotel is the only privately run independent hotel the the centre of Gloucester. The hotel is a short stroll from the city centre, far enough away from city nightlife to have a peaceful night.

The Edward is a grade 2 listed, terraced, town house Hotel originally three houses built between 1796 and 1830.

free of charge. Rooms are smart and snappy. Ground Floor rooms have grab rails for less abled. There are no stairs to access the rear of the hotel.
There are no late night functions or late bars, the emphasis more upon peaceful nights. In the winter there is a real log fire in the lounge.
The corridors form an informative picture gallery of Gloucester’s historic buildings. Staff here can arrange walking tours of the city. The hotel is close to Gloucester Rugby Club, Gloucester Royal Hospital, GL1, and both train and bus stations.
There is a good food pub 2 minutes walk and a good range of bars and restaurants within 5 - 10 minutes walk.

Traveling
5 mins frm J11 and 11a of M5. 30 mins from Swindon J15 M4. 35 mins from M5/M42 junction.
From J11 exit towards Glos, do nothing but go straight on, after approx 2 miles pass speed camera in centre of road, we are 200m on left, pass hotel and go to rear car park via Hyde Lane.
From J11a, exit towards Glos, at 3rd roundabout turn right, after approx 1 mile pass speed camera in centre of road, we are 200m on left, pass hotel and go to rear car park via Hyde Lane then Royal lane.
From train station turn right for 200m, turn right and we are 500m on right.

Althouigh there are no functions or late bars at the Edward, Gloucester Guildhall which hosts music dance and comedy, is a short walk away.
Sports and Leisure
Easy walking distance to GL1 Gloucester Leisure centre for swimming, / gym, KIngsholm, Gloucester Rugby Club, is also a short walk.. You can walk to the Warehouse for Indoor climbing and to Gloucester Bowls club. Oxstalls tennis centre and Gloucester Ski centre are a short drive away. Three golf courses are an easy drive away.
