The West Country Inn is a 16th Century Coaching Inn, ideally situated on the A39 Atlantic Highway between Bideford and Bude and 4 miles from Clovelly. It is set within its own 2.5 acres of land, surrounded by moorland and unspoilt countryside offering great food, drink and accommodation. Apart from the holiday maker, we are ideal for travelling business people who require a convenient, comfortable place to stop overnight. The Inn boasts a wealth of original features, open fireplaces and stunning views over the beautiful surrounding countryside. There is a carvery and function room and a cosy restaurant with original flagstone flooring and crooked beams. All of our food is home made by our experienced chefs utilising local meat and produce. Our menus range from traditional English to World cusine and we cater for children and those who require specialised diets.
In the evenings, after a long day of exploring the wonderful surroundings, you can relax in the games room or in the lounge and bar. In the warmer months, the beer garden is the ideal spot for a refreshing drink. During the winter months we cater for shoot parties and host live entertainment nights. Please contact us for details on accommodation and local shoots.
For those interested in the paranormal, The West Country Inn is reputedly haunted by a friendly ghost, so come and experience a different kind of spirit! We also have an annual ghost hunt, please feel free to ring for details.
