Set on the edge of the Brecon Beacons in Wales, this former coaching inn with a smart Georgian facade and 34 guest rooms is the heart of the historic market town of Abergavenny. The majority of rooms are within the hotel however The Mews, a former stables, is adjacent to the hotel; The Lodge, a Victorian house within the Abergavenny Castle grounds is a 2 minute walk from the hotel; and Castle Cottage, a lovely restored 17th century property is directly across from the hotel`s car park.

There is a mainline railway station, just South of the town, coming from London and Cardiff via Newport, and the North via Hereford. The railway station is a 10 - 15 minute walk from the hotel.

South of the town, the A4042 from Cardiff meets the A465 from the North and the A40 from the West. Coming into Abergavenny the main road turns right in front of the Angel. You can turn left by the side of the Hotel. At the top of the narrow lane go right and the car park entrance is immediately on the right.
The hotel car park is at the rear of the hotel. If full, use the large public car park opposite.
The A40 is our main approach road. Motorway standard, it links with the North-South dual-carriageway, 10 miles East. from the Midlands via Ross-on-Wye on the M50, or from London and the East, via the Severn bridges, on the M4 (junction 24).
It is a one hour drive from Cardiff and Bristol airports, 90mins from Birmingham airport and 2hrs 20mins from Heathrow
