Would Stay Again

One bedside light not working, the other had no lampshade. One of shower doors missing altogether. Sink was in room and had leaking tap. Carpets in public areas a bit shabby - lots of carpet tape. Receptionist on booking in seemed to be reciting a script, without any real interest. (Example, asked "have you stayed here before", but when we said "no" did not offer information or comment). None of these things were very big, but they added up to a feeling of dissatisfaction.
We did intend to complain at the time but the hotel redeemed itself in several ways- nice ambience, excellent breakfast, cheap booze, excellent live music and room immaculately clean. After booking in, other staff members were pleasant and helpful.
The night we arrived, I would have said that we would not want to stay at Longlands again. However, if we were given a different room.

Sorry to hear your comments. We are now undergoing a refurb & if you wish to contact us directly by email we are able to offer you a discounted rate plus a complimentary bottle of house wine. We feel the majority of our staff do look after our guests well & are concerned about the way your check in was handled (we do not know who the person was as we don't know when you stayed).
We hope you will visit us again either in a Lapwing room (other side to where you stayed) or one of our refurbs (avail from Sept).
Regards Fiona Robinson (Manager)
