said: "We`ve called in here a few times in the past for food, as it`s a regular stopping-off point on journeys over the border. This time we thought we`d stay the night. We booked 4-poster room as we wanted something a bit special. In the end it was really just an average room with some now slightly-dated-looking furniture and 4-poster bed; nothing like the character of the bar/restaurant area. The room could have been a bit better prepared - I found a few bits of broken biscuits on the carpet which had obviously been missed by the cleaning staff. That said, the food was as good as ever. You`ve *got* to try the Haggis Fritters in Glenkinchie Whisky Sauce."
