said: "Although the bedding was clean that was about all that was. The general state of the hotel was rundown and tatty, the bathroom was very dirty, few items of crockery or cutlery were clean, the pillows were only half an inch thick and it was impossible to get more than barely warm out of the shower. Bedroom was also freezing. However the food in the restaurant was very good."

said: "The Beach Arms Hotel is now much more popular with Basingstoke folk since the good value carvery £4.50 introduced. The bedrooms in the old building are quaint but look tired and in need of redecoration. Our TV remote did not work neither did the TV controls on TV. Some noise from the carvery could disturb you if in the main block - rear block better. Car parking inadequate with carvery visitors - breakfast coffee truly appalling. Other than that OK. Was very handy to west of Basingstoke on B3400 Andover Road."

said: "The pub/restaurant is run as a separate concern to the accommodation and the lack of interest from the pub side in regards to accommodating the dietary requirements of clients, lets the hotel down. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and spacious, but in need of refurbishment. Mould in bathroom."
