The rubbish including old kebabs etc directly outside the property looked unsightly and was not cleaned up at all during the stay. It was extremely noisy being in close proximity to the railway. The hotel shook violently as trains went past.
We will not use this hotel again.

Jacqui Jarvis (on

Although the windows were good condition double-glazing, it wasn't possible to close windows against traffic noise because of the heat in the rooms (we booked two). No fans. My colleague was very unsure about the bed and slept gingerly on one side, which hadn't been used so much. She had a problem deciding between traffic noises outside or stifling heat inside. I had a problem with ants, probably coming up from the conservatory below.
The location was handy for station and city centre. The newer conservatory and garden were very pleasant compared to the interior rooms. A positive touch was a kettle and tea bags in the rooms.
Staff was efficient and helpful, and our morning breakfast waiter was pleasant.
Cost was equivalent to a Travelodge - but to a visitor from abroad would seem pretty expensive for what they are getting.
