Welcome to Rufflets Country House Hotel, St Andrews, one of the oldest established and highest quality country house hotels in Scotland. This idyllic turreted mansion house, set in 10 acres of award-winning gardens has been in the same family ownership since 1952. With an enviable location on the outskirts of St Andrews, you can enjoy the tranquillity of the Fife countryside with the bustle of the town only 1.5 miles away.
Rufflets offers a wide range of accommodation options, with 24 individually designed bedrooms and three luxury self catering lodges in the grounds, offering something for everyone for weekend and short breaks
The elegant and spacious Terrace Restaurant is perfect for a romantic dinner for two or for a larger family gathering and the hotel`s own garden supplies much of the fresh produce used in the seasonally changing menus. Our renowned service and attention to detail make Rufflets the ideal venue for weddings and corporate events.
Golf, of course, is the main attraction in the area. St Andrews may be the acclaimed `Home of Golf` but the medieval town also offers excellent shopping, art galleries, restaurants and museums. Fife boasts an abundance of both indoor and outdoor activities for families and you don`t have to travel far from Rufflets to find some of the best beaches in Scotland.
Wining and Dining
When it comes to food, our mantra is to provide a range of fabulous dishes, using the best of local produce, handled with passion, care and knowledge.
The elegant (yet relaxing) and spacious 2AA Rosette Terrace Restaurant offers a seasonally changing a la carte menu. At Rufflets, we spend much time sourcing the ingredients for our menus – working with local small producers within the region, to find the very best of what is available.
We are also proud to be able to boast “zero food miles” for the herbs, vegetables and soft fruits grown in our grounds. Chef Grant MacNicol and our gardener, Phil Harper, work together to supply the kitchen with a range of fresh produce all year round.
All this effort has been recognised by VisitScotland who awarded ‘Taste our Best’ for use of Scotlands’ Larder, presentation, quality and service standards.
To complement your meal, our wonderful cellar offers an eclectic choice of wines from around the globe, including an extensive selection of half bottles and wines by the glass.
