The Hambro Arms is located in the picturesque and historic village of Milton Abbas, in the heart of beautiful Dorset. Milton Abbas, which features on many picture postcards of Dorset, is a 'chocolate box' village, with identical thatched cottages and a unique history. It is believed to be the first 'planned village' in England.
The bar and restaurant with rooms, offers exceptional food and newly-refurbished bedrooms offering all of the charm of the historic building with modern conveniences.
The Hambro Arms has two recently refurbished and spacious bars as well as the elegant Library Restaurant. Our customers can relax in front of our fire and enjoy a range of local ales and spirits, or choose from our wide selection of quality wines. Our food offering caters for every occasion. Whether it is a lunch time light bite or a special meal, we have the menu to suit.

Our customers can relax in front of our open fire and enjoy a range of local ales and spirits, or choose from our wide selection of quality wines. Our food offering caters for every occasion. Whether it is a lunch time snack or a special meal, we have the menu to suit. We offer a selection of traditional pub food as well as a specials board that changes daily and offers dishes for that special occassion in our elegant restaurant.
n the winter, we welcome our guests to relax with friends in front of our roaring open fire and choose from a great selection of local ales, including the award winning "Piddle Ales", largers or ciders.
Alternatively, choose from our extensive range of spirits including a selection of malt whiskies.

Milton Abbas is located 3 miles from the A354 between Blandford Forum and Dorchester.
From the West
From Dorchester take the A35. On the dual carriageway, take the exit for the A354 Blandford Forum. Proceed on the the A354 until Milborne St Andrew. Turn left in the middle of the village signposted Milton Abbas and follow the road to the village. Once in the village, proceed up the main street. The Hambro Arms is on the right-hand side of the road.
From the East
From Blandford Forum take the A354 signposted Dorchester. Inthe centre of Winterborne Whitechurch at The Milton Arms turn right signposted Milton Abbas. After entering the village turn left signposted Milton Abbey. The Hambro Arms is 200 meters down the hill on the left.

At the Hambro Arms we believe in offering quality food, locally sourced, at an affordable price. Our food offering caters for every occasion. Whether it is a lunch time lite bite outside or in our bar area, or that special occassion in our elegant Library Restaurant.
A Bit About Our Food
Our ethos is to prepare, cook and serve good food simply, allowing the excellent quality and freshness of our locally sourced produce to speak for itself: real food, real flavours. All of our food is home-made, right down to the tartare sauce served with your fish and chips. We are committed to using the best produce and changing the menu regularly.
We believe in sourcing our ingredients as locally as possible. Our suppliers include J Mato & Sons for meat. Seafresh and Portland Shellfish Company for fish.
We have a bar area that is perfect for a lunchtime snack or an informal evening meal in front of the fire, or you can choose our elegant Library Restaurant which will seat up to 40 people. If the weather is good, we have ample seating outside so our customers can enjoy the village atmosphere and views. Please note that we do allow (well behaved!) dogs in our bar area but not the restaurant.
On Sunday Lunchtime we always have a choice of Sunday Roasts.
We are delighted to hold functions and can provide anything from a finger buffet, a special dinner to a full wedding breakfast in our elegant restaurant.
The emphasis is upon homemade with quality ingredients sourced locally whenever possible. As well as rossete standard food we also offer pub classics. The menu changes frequently so we can offer the best seasonal produce and our customers can come regularly and enjoy different dishes.
At lunchtimes, in addition to our normal menu, we offer a range of baguettes and panini, as well as our ploughmans and our club sandwich.
On Sundays we offer a chice of roasts and a childrens menu is always available.
