Wining and Dining
We’re justifiably proud of our beautiful Garden Restaurant and its excellent cuisine – and the experts agree. Chef Tom Burge’s modern British menu with its ‘taste of Wales’ has received an AA Rosette. We’re sure more accolades will follow but in the meantime the Best Western Hallmark Hotel Chester Llyndir Hall is more than happy with the high praise it receives from our guests. After all, it’s their taste buds that matter most.
The food attracting the attention is locally sourced and highly inventive. Just take a look. For starters there’s smoked tomato and basil soup with basil scones, a grey tea smoked salmon with saffron rice or monkfish scampi with Wrexham lager batter (well we did say it was local). There’s even boiled egg and soldiers, although not as you know it. This one comes with asparagus, pancetta, saffron crumbs and parmesan shavings.
That should tickle the taste buds nicely for mains such as rack of Welsh lamb (it would be a crime not to offer the best lamb on the planet), Welsh rib eye with mushroom puree and macaire potatoes, or a grilled 28-day matured Welsh dry aged beef. There are, of course, many more and the desert list is equally intriguing with an upside down pineapple cake and fabulous Welsh cheese: anyone for Perl Wen Brie or Perl La Blue?
A menu this good deserves a suitable stage. Step forward our elegant Garden Restaurant with its coolly contemporary olive and earth tone interiors, wood floors and magnificent period windows. It’s the perfect follow on from a drink in our relaxing bar and lounge.
