A Shropshire hotel only a hundred yards from Wales. A hotel in the Shropshire and Wales border hills, this supremely peaceful country house provides the perfect retreat to escape the "madding crowd" and to enjoy this delightful corner of "England-as-it-used-to-be" near Oswestry midway between Shrewsbury and Chester. Built in 1845 of local stone, Pen-y-Dyffryn was constructed as a Georgian Rectory. Good Hotel Guide and Johansen recommended. Three Star and two Rosettes from the AA. Good food and relaxation in an easy-going and sociable atmosphere. A well stocked bar, wine cellar and crackling log fires. Those who come simply to unwind will find it hard to do otherwise.

Walking.

Please note: Dinner, bed and breakfast based on a 2-night stay or more on weekends.
