The Castle & Ball is at the centre of what is reputed to be Britain's widest High Street. Marlborough is a town steeped in history, and since the 15th Century an inn has stood on this site. Some of the surviving original oak timbers at the Hotel pre-date the Spanish Armada. The age of the building accounts for the individual nature of each of the 32 newly refurbished bedrooms, and for the split level design of the restaurant, but no compromise is made in providing everything the guest of today requires. A wide range of excellent wines is available whilst the brand new Brasserie offers a wide ranging menu, offering something to even the most discerning diner.
