The hotel is well located for central Birmingham (around 25 minutes on foot or catch a bus from directly outside the hotel straight into the heart of the city) and now offers free onsite parking, both covered and open air for higher vehicles. Rooms have recently been refurbished in traditional neutral style with touches of warmer colours. Modern conveniences include free WIFI throughout and flat screen TVs with a great choice of satellite channels including Sky Sports 1 and 2. The Executive Room in which we stayed was large with plenty of natural daylight. As the hotel is round in shape, my tip is to choose an Executive Room (or a Single with 3/4 bed for lone travellers looking for best price) for the best outward views. Standard Doubles are just as well equipped but overlook the inner courtyard (air conditioning is provided in the Standard Doubles for maximum comfort). Upgrades are available on arrival for £15 per night from the room type booked subject to availability. There's a good choice for breakfast and evening meals in the open plan restaurant and you can work this off in the hotel's well equipped gym! The new open plan lounge / bar at the front of the hotel is a really nice place to relax with a drink or a newspaper and feels very welcoming to all guests.
