•Botany Bay – Jn 8 M61, Shopping outlet with restaurant, gardening and children's play area.
•Rivington Barn - full of crafts and homemade goodies, situated at Rivington Pike, a picturesque area for walking and relaxation.
•Middlebrook Retail Park – M61, a huge area of entertainment including shopping, restaurants, cinemas and leisure activities.
•Hoghton Tower, a fortified16th Century Baronial residence, 15 minutes' drive from the hotel.
•National Football Museum, Preston, a newly re-opened shrine to the Beautiful Game, a must for any football fan. 40 minutes' drive (central Manchester).
•Harris Museum and Art Gallery, Preston, a Grade I listed museum, the largest in Lancashire, which displays a variety of art and artefacts, in addition to an exhibition on the history of Preston. 15 minutes' drive from the hotel.
•The Lake District, England's largest National Park, one of the most beautiful places in the country and a haven for walking, hiking and climbing, as well as many other activities. Lake Windermere is around one hour away by car from Farington Lodge.
•Blackpool Tower and Funfairs, situated in what has been the North-West's entertainment capital for over a century. Half-an-hour's drive from the hotel.
•Gulliver's World, Warrington, a fun-packed Theme Park for all the family, only 40 minutes from Farington.
•The Trafford Centre, the UK's largest shopping centre, an amazing example of oddbox British architecture and a hub for shopping, eating and leisure. Situated 35 minutes away, just outside Manchester.
•The British Commercial Vehicle Museum, situated on the situated on the site of the fomer Leyland Motors factory, represents the heart of the British commercial vehicle industry, and has many exhibits of the vehicles, old and new, which continue to form the lifeline of British industrial success. The museum is only five minutes' drive from the hotel, or twenty minutes on foot.
•Leighton Hall, a 'living' stately home, with no 'roped-off' areas. Visitors can sit at ancient tables or on elaborate chairs, and even play on a Steinway Grand Piano, as every room in the house is used frequently by the owners. Leighton Hall is 50 minutes' drive from Farington Lodge.

Travelling

Set close to Leyland, near Preston, and just two minutes from the intersection of the M6, M61 and M65, Farington Lodge is easily accessible from all over the north of England.
Manchester Airport is only forty minutes away, and we are only three hours by train from London. The Hotel is within walking distance of Leyland Train Station.
From M6 south, M61& M65
Take the M6 to Junction 29 or M61 to Junction 9 and the follow signs for M65 Preston South. Continue to the end of M65 then turn left at the large roundabout.
Drive 200 metres to the next roundabout and turn left. 0.9 miles to traffic lights. Straight through lights and the entrance to Farington Lodge is 100 metres on the right.
From M6 north
Leave the M6 at Junction 28. Turn left at bottom of slip road, then take the first right into Bow Brook Lane (opposite Best Western Hotel). This leads into Bow Lane.
Turn left at the T-Junction (church on left) into Moss Lane. Turn right at the mini roundabout (Vauxhall garage on right). Farington Lodge entrance is half a mile on left.
