Built from around 1430, as an inn for pilgrims who came to the Cathedral, it has a medieval courtyard with galleries on all sides. The New Inn has been restored- both the bedrooms and the building. It has been described as the finest example of a medieval galleried Inn to be seen in Britain today. It was originally built by St Peters Abbey between 1430 and 1450 and replaced an earlier Inn, giving it the Title New Inn.
Situated right in the heart of Gloucester within walking distance of Gloucester Cathedral and the historic docks, the New Inn is the perfect place to stay. Fully licensed restaurant, comfortable rooms and a traditional Gloucester welcome.
