The Royal Burgh of Stranraer, in Southwest Scotland, is the country's ferry port for Northern Ireland. It is a pleasant, picturesque town with many narrow, winding streets and small shops. And it is here that you will find the family-friendly Craignelder Hotel, which commands an imposing position near to the ferry terminal.

The elegant dining room (which gets extremely busy at lunchtimes!) is the place to have that special celebration dinner. Or perhaps you just want to treat yourself! The menu - carefully put together by the resident chef - features traditional Scottish cuisine with some foreign influences.

Business Meetings, Conference Facilities, Dinner Dances, Function Rooms, Meeting Rooms are available in the Victorian villa which was once the home of a sea captain, and it sits within easy walking distance of the ferry terminal itself. It has been converted to give all that is best in Scottish hospitality while retaining many original features.
