The Langstone Cliff Hotel in Devon, welcomed its first guests in the Spring of 1947, prior to that it was what the Victorians knew as a "Gentleman's Residence". The cast iron Veranda was, we believe, imported from the southern states of the USA around the 1900's and still proves a popular place to sit and enjoy a drink or a light meal all year round with it's panoramic views across the mouth of the River Exe towards Exmouth.
Since those early days there have been many changes and the Langstone Cliff Hotel can now offer 66 en-suite rooms and a host of leisure and business facilities that our earliest guests would surely have welcomed.
The hotel is still a popular family holiday destination, especially during school holidays, but now also caters for Conferences, Meetings and Short Breaks throughout the year.

Special Family Reductions for Children Sharing Family Rooms
Up to two (2) Children under 10 years of age are completely FREE, for pre-booked food and accommodation, when sharing accommodation with two adults.
Additional Children under 10 years - Quarter Tariff when sharing as above.
Children 10 - 16 Years - Half Tariff, when sharing accommodation with two adults.

Detailed Directions to the Langstone Cliff Hotel
From Exeter and the North
1. Leave the M5 at Junction 30
2. Follow the signs for Dawlish (A379) 2nd Exit on the Sandygate Roundabout
3. Proceed along a short length of dual carriageway for approximately half a mile past the turning
for the supermarket following the signs for Dawlish.
4. Filter on to a second Dual Carriageway to for approximately a quarter mile to Countess Wear
roundabout. Take the 2nd exit signposted Dawlish (A379)
5. Proceed along the road (over the swing bridge) for about 500 metres to Matford roundabout
take the first exit signposted Dawlish (A379)
6. Continue along the Exminster bypass approx 2 miles (Sannerville Way) to the roundabout
take the second exit and proceed towards Kenton. Approximately 4 miles.
7. Continue through Kenton to the village of Starcross.
8. Once through Starcross proceed along beside the railway to a sharp right hand bend with
Cockwood harbour on your left as you turn out of the bend.
9. Take the road 20 metres beyond the bend adjacent to the harbour and proceed to Dawlish
Warren pass the Anchor Inn.
10. Approximately 1 mile to Dawlish Warren proceed through the village pass the turning to the
Beach on the left.
11. Continue up the hill pass the Mount Pleasant inn on your left. The Hotel entrance is
approximately 50 metres on the Left look out for a large Blue Sign.
From Plymouth and the South West
1. From Plymouth take the A38 Expressway towards Exeter.
2. At Haldon Hill Just passed the Happy Eater Restaurant take the turning left signposted to
Dunchideock and Exeter Racecourse.
3. Turn Right at the junction and proceed under the A38 towards the A380.
4. Cross the Mini roundabout and proceed for approximately half a mile to the junction with the
A380.
5. Cross the A380 and follow the road adjacent to the Café
6. Continue down the lane for approximately 2 miles to the B3381. Continue along the road to
the left where the road connects to the B3381.
7. Follow the Road down the Hill being careful of oncoming traffic and tight bends for
approximately 4 Miles.
8. At the T Junction with New Road, opposite the golf course, take a right turn and proceed to
the main A379 at Cockwood Harbour.
9. At the Junction with the main A379 at Cockwood you will see a road almost opposite you running
along the back of the Harbour. Take this road to Dawlish Warren.
12. Approximately 1 mile to Dawlish Warren proceed through the village pass the turning to the
Beach on the left.
13. Continue up the hill pass the Mount Pleasant inn on your left. The Hotel entrance is
approximately 50 metres on the Left look out for a large Blue Sign.
From Teignmouth and Newton Abbot
1. Follow the A379 from Teignmouth through Dawlish town centre towards Exeter.
2. Proceed along Exeter road out of Dawlish for approximately half a mile. Just passed the
second Zebra crossing there is a small group of shops and a garage on the right.
3. Just beyond the garage on the right is a road signposted Dawlish Warren.
4. Follow this road for approximately three quarters of a mile the hotel is on the right hand side
as approximately 100 metres after the houses appear on the left.

The weekend starts with four course dinner, plus coffee on Friday evening and dancing to follow, accommodation and newspaper of your choice, full English breakfast, Saturday evening brings another first class dinner, dancing and the Star Cabaret of the weekend.
Stay the night, enjoy another big breakfast and possibly Sunday lunch from our familiar carvery to wind up a superb weekend.
On Bank Holiday Weekends, the Star Cabaret attraction appears on the Sunday Evening.
Prices for special weekends are quoted per person and are half-board - that is excluding lunch but including dinner room and breakfast and all entertainment.

Tennis
The Hotel has a full sized hard surfaced Tennis court located in the hotel grounds adjacent the main Lawns
Golf
The Langstone Cliff Hotel is in an envious position regards golf. Just 700 metres from the hotel is the Warren Golf Club, founded in 1892, and located in a renowned wildlife conservation area on a promontory between the sea and the Exe Estuary.
It is one of the very few true links courses on the South Coast and the only one in South Devon. 5965 Yards, Par 69, off white tees, it is a challenging course with narrow fairways and plenty of gorse and heather.
Snooker
The snooker room offers a full sized antique Burroughs and Watts table (completely refurbished of course) in a a spacious and airy room.
There is a selection of snooker cues available in the room and billiard chalk is also provided.
There is currently a £1.00 charge for tokens for the meter which operates the lights and this will allow approximately 30 minutes play. Tokens are available from reception or the bar.
Children under the age of 16 are not permitted in the Snooker room unless accompanied by a responsible adult.
Swimming Pools
The Langstone Cliff Hotel has two swimming pools with two paddling pools.
The Paddling Pool is approximately 3 metres square and 400mm deep. The Indoor pool is maintained at 30°Celsius (90° Fahrenheit).
The Indoor Pool is approximately 10 metres (33 feet) Long by 6 metres wide (19 feet 8 inches) and is approximately 1 meter (3 feet 3 inches) at the shallow end falling to approximately 1.6 metres (5 feet 6 inches) at the deep end. The Pool is normally open between 6.30am and 7.00pm.
The Outdoor Pool is heated when appropriate. It is approximately 12.2 metres (40 feet) long by 6.1 metres (20 feet wide) with a Roman end and is 1200mm deep.
The Outdoor Paddling Pool is approximately 6.1 Metres (20feet) by 3.05 metres (10feet) and about 400mm deep.
Stuff for Kids
The Langstone Cliff Hotel offers a whole range of facilities for Children. We have a baby listening service which is available in all the rooms, a plentiful supply of High chairs and cots as well as childrens cutlery. There are both indoor and outdoor childrens play areas and of course 2 swimming pools.

The Langstone cliff Hotel is set in 19acres of glorious Devon countryside surrounded by woodlands and overlooking the sea.
The Hotel has 5 rooms licensed for civil ceremonies and a variety of options for wedding receptions from the 400 seat Washington suite downwards.
