The Mandalay Picton House Hotel is located in charming tree-lined Sussex Gardens. It is situated in a beautiful 19th century Victorian mid-terrace. Paddington Main Line Rail and Underground are only 5 minutes on foot.

 

It is a small, clean and quality hotel run by the Ally family, who speak Norwegian fluently. There are 18 en-suite rooms: twin, double, triple and family. All rooms have a television, hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities.

Our room tariff starts from 75.00 Pounds for double or twin occupancy with shower/toilet and breakfast included. We have special tariff for single occupancy with shower/toilet at 59.00 Pounds per night with breakfast. Wi-Fi is available in most of the rooms for a small additional cost. The Ally family have also been running successfully the Mandalay Burmese Restaurant on Edgware Road since 1994. It is very successful, having achieved many nominations for prestigious awards and picked up the Time Out Best Budget Meal Award in 1996. It has also been awarded Time Out London's all time best CHEAP EATS in 2009. The restaurant is well known all over the world, receiving favourable reviews from New York to New Delhi, Oslo to Tel Aviv, Paris to Tokyo and many in between.

  I received a warm welcome when I walked in the door. If I were to get the same rate as I paid (discounted winter rate), I would stay again but I don`t believe that I would pay the full price. The room was very basic. The bed was firm and comfortable. The bedding was nice, clean and relatively new. The room/building is old and does need to be refurbished. The ensuite was a tiny "wet room" with a small sink, toilet and "half" a shower in size but worked ok for my body size. Breakfast was a fried egg with veggie bacon on top along with toast & cereal so it wasn`t really a Full English. The area was really nice and quiet and just a short walk to shops/restaurants. I received a warm welcome when I walked in the door. I had my bag taken to the room for me which was a nice surprise as I do have a back problem (most budget hotels in London do not offer this service). If I were to get the same rate as I paid (discounted winter rate), I would stay again but I don`t believe that I would pay the full price. The room was very basic. The bed was firm and comfortable. The bedding was nice, clean and relatively new. The room/building is old and does need to be refurbished. The ensuite was a tiny "wet room" with a small sink, toilet and "half" a shower in size but worked ok for my body size.
