The Lamb began trading as a public house probably as early as the 12 century,by 1870 it was already well established as a posting inn that supplied 300 post horses for coaches going to and from London and the West country.
To this day the building retains plenty of its original character and features including inglenook fireplaces, flagstone floors and heavy wooden beams.
The Lamb offers comfortable accommodation in 20 newly refurbished en-suite bedrooms and an excellent restaurant serving local produce. The extensive wine list includes wines from local vineyards. Open log fires & real ales add to the Inn's charm. We also have a civil marriage license and specialise in small, intimate weddings.
