The Melita was built in 1888 and is one of the larger Victorian buildings in Stratford-upon-Avon. The hotel is 350m from the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, restaurants, and shops. The 5 minute level walk to the theatre is well lit. Your route takes you across the footbridge spanning the beautiful River Avon and on through Stratford's' wonderful Bancroft gardens to the theatre.
For over 20 years the Melita has won various Stratford in bloom awards for its beautiful hanging baskets that decorate the front of the property. However, during the spring and summer months it is the rear garden that makes the Melita such a special place to stay. Use of garden.
