Situated in the heart of beautiful Mid-Wales between Newtown and Machynlleth alongside the A470. This 17th century Inn offers a warm welcome to travellers and locals alike. With two bars we offer a wide selection of beers, lagers, and ciders as well as a varied range of quality home cooked meals to cater to all tastes.
The Inn has six bedrooms, all with shower and hand wash basins, two are fully en-suite. All rooms are centrally heated and have colour television and tea / coffee making facilities. The Inn, which gained its unusual title from the retired sea captain of a ship of the same name is situated in the village of Carno opposite the church of St. John the Baptist. The church is the former site of a hospital of the knights of St. John and the final resting place of fashion designer Laura Ashley.
