Gilsland Spa hotel sits proudly in 140 acres of manicured garden and natural woodland in an idyllic countryside location with spectacular views over the Cumbrian and Northumberland countryside. It takes its name from the nearby Gilsland village and the restorative properties of the historic sulphur well visited by many since the 1800s.

The Hotel offers guests the opportunity to explore, spot wildlife, including deer and red squirrels, walk, shop or just relax. The location is an ideal base for exploring the World Heritage sites along Hadrian’s Wall, as well as for visiting Carlisle, Gretna, Hexham and Newcastle. The latest addition to the Hotel facilities is a modern, light function suite, The Orangery. It was built and opened in 2010 and provides an up to date facility for weddings, conferences and events. It is licensed for civil ceremonies and can take up to 100 guests for this special occasion.

The Orangery is also ideal for conference and events. Together with Hadrian’s Coffee Shop, it offers seating for up to 250 delegates.
