Pickering is the gateway to the North Yorkshire Moors and the farm is surrounded by some of the region’s most spectacular scenery. With the farm as a comfortable, relaxing base, you can enjoy a restful break, go bird watching or take one of the many pleasant walking or cycling routes in the area. There is also 800 metres of trout fishing available on site. The farm’s location also makes it an ideal base for trips to the Yorkshire coast,. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is within easy reach, as is Eden Camp, Flamingo Land, York and Scarborough.
When the weather is good, enjoy a game of croquet or boules on the lawn or giant Jenga in the courtyard. The more athletic can enjoy a game of football on the field, table tennis in the barn or a game of Swingball. A children’s play area is situated on the back lawn.
The farm also currently has 5 Dexter cows (Daisy, Tilley, Totty, Horace and Doris), loads of free-range hens, some ducks, 7 sheep, a rabbit and a guinea pig.
A range of DVDs, guidebooks and leaflets are available in reception.
