Welcome to The Angel Inn in Stoke-by-Nayland.
Stoke-by-Nayland lies close to the border with Essex in the heart of Constable country. The grand tower of St. Mary's church with its 120 foot perpendicular tower was a favourite of John's and it appears several times in his paintings, not always in the right place! Simon Jenkins, in England's 1000 best churches, says that when the bells of Stoke-by-Nayland ring, all Suffolk stops to listen.
The Angel Inn is a traditional 16th Century oak beamed coaching house in the heart of this small village. It is one of the most well known pubs in the county
The pub has a wealth of charm and character in every area, from the warmth and tradition of the main bar to bright, airy and glamorous vaulted 'well room complete with its original 52ft well.
