The Balmoral is a small country hotel situated in the centre of Moffat, a former spa town (the poet Robert Burns was one of the many visitors who came here to take the waters) and now a major sheep-farming centre as well as an ideal tourist location within easy reach of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Galloway and the Lake District.
Moffat itself offers an 18 hole golf course, open to non-members, an excellent visitor centre and a museum. The surrounding countryside offers good hill-walking and fishing, with several historical sites located nearby.
The Balmoral Hotel is fully licensed, has 18 en-suite rooms and offers Bed and Breakfast accommodation and evening meals. Bar meals are available to order all day and all major credit cards are accepted.
