With a grand entrance and driveway, family-run Solar da Salvadoura is a 16th-century manor house. Overlooking the mountains around Goães, it has an outdoor pool in a large garden with water features. Each accommodation option has a private bathroom, and some have exposed stone walls, a covered terrace or fireplace. The suites are located in the main house, and the self-catering studio and villa are within the grounds. For B&B guests a regional breakfast is provided. Both self-catering units include a kitchen area, and the villa has a wood-fired barbecue. There is a restaurant in Goães, less than a 10-minute walk away. Owned by the same family since it was built, the property is on a farm and guests can take a walk among the fruit trees. It also has a pool table, lounge with antique-style furniture, and a chapel decorated with Portuguese blue tiles. Braga is 17 km from Solar da Salvadoura House, and the edge of Peneda-Gerês National Park is 20 km away.
