The Lutwidge Arms at Holmbrook is a Victorian Roadside inn with a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. It takes the name of the Lutwidges of Holmrook Hall who included Lewis Carroll of Alice In Wonderland fame. The Hotel has been owned and managed by the Kelly family since 1994 and now provides comfortable accommodation in nineteen en-suite bedrooms. You can enjoy a varied selection of home cooked meals served either in our bar or tastefully decorated restaurant which enjoys fine views over the river Irt to the lakeland hills.
Set between England's highest mountain and the Irish sea, The Lutwidge arms enjoys the drier climate of the coastal strip whilst being only nine miles from the top of Scafell.
The River Irt, famous for salmon and sea trout, meanders past the front of the hotel, and provides superb walks directly from the hotel.
