Once visited by Oliver Cromwell and Henry VI, parts of Irton Hall date back to the 14th century. It retains traditional timber framing and other charming features, but offers modern amenities like free Wi-Fi. There are traditionally furnished rooms in the 14th-century tower, the converted ballroom, and separate cottages. All have a TV with satellite channels, a fully equipped kitchen area, and a spacious bathroom. It is a 10-minute drive from Irton Hall to the miniature steam railway at Ravenglass and Eskdale. Muncaster Castle, with its owl sanctuary, is 10 minutes’ drive from the building.
