Situated in the tiny fishing village of Pennan, this seafront inn is 40 miles north of Aberdeen and offers free Wi-Fi and free parking nearby. The building and its iconic red phonebox was made famous by the 1983 film Local Hero. Just metres from the pebbly beach, Pennan Inn has a striking cliffside location with beautiful hills and Scottish countryside to explore. It is a 20-minute drive from the inn to Longman Hill, a prehistoric monument with far-reaching views across to Moray Firth. The charming restaurant has an open fireplace, exposed brick and a beamed ceiling. Pennan Inn specialises in Thai food, but also serves traditional favourites like fish and chips, homemade sticky toffee pudding, and banoffee pie. A full Scottish breakfast is served in the morning. Rooms all feature a flat-screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities, and a small en suite bathroom with free toiletries.
