"Travelling on business all over Northern Ireland, Scotland and Ireland it is wonderful to find a place that's a real gem - and within budget for the person needing single accommodation (something that a lot of hotels don't cater for). The Cook and Barker, so conveniently situated just off the A1 between Morpeth and Alnwick provides superb accommodation at the right price and some of the best food I experience on my travels."

Description

Two families with historic associations with the Village of Newton on the Moor give their names to this Traditional English Pub. There are a selection of real ales on pump and an exciting and diverse bar menu. The forge restaurant has an appealing A La Carte menu and extensive wine list to choose from. The place has a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff.

The Cook & Barker has a total of 19 bedroom of which 14 have been recently equipped with furnishings and fitments of the highest quality guaranteeing guests warm and comfortable surroundings; there are a number of traditional rooms which have ‘olde worlde’ characteristics such as exposed beams but all the bedrooms at The Cook & Barker are cosy and welcoming. Naturally, all bedrooms have en-suite facilities with complimentary quality toiletries, colour television complete with VCR and DVD, tea and/or coffee maker with Northumbrian biscuits and trouser press. One of our bedrooms has its own ‘four-poster’ bed; for that romantic stay, please do ask for its availability. We shall be delighted to offer room service in your bedroom - do, please, let us know of your requirements.
