John Henry's was, up until very recent years the working Village Forge, used by generations of local blacksmiths to make shoes for the many racehorses that were trained in the village.

Main courses range in price from £5.95 to £14.95 and may be selected from our blackboard. With our delicious starters and desserts you can be sure to find something to please everyone. Please note: Our restaurant is now entirely non-smoking. Smoking is permitted in the bar area.Our bar snack menu features a range of sandwiches and baguettes along with traditional and vegetarian breakfasts.
Situated adjacent to John Henry’s, Marigold Cottage having parts dating back 200 plus years has been tastefully converted to Bed and Breakfast accommodation providing 4 en-suite rooms, some with vaulted ceilings.
Rooms have colour TV/radio, wireless broadband internet access, tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryers and ironing facilities available. Breakfast is served at our Bar & Restaurant which can also provide lunches and evening meals. Packed lunches can also be provided. Please enquire about half board, full board, longer stay and party rates.
A further luxury en-suite double room has now been added in the courtyard of John Henry's - a part of the building known as the Old Stocks. This room has been furnished to a similar high standard as Marigold Cottage, with the added benefit of controllable Air conditioning, flat screen TV and DVD player.
