The Old North Inn sits in the small village of Inchmore on the A862 just 7 miles from Inverness. Formerly known as the Bog Roy, the inn holds a prime place in the colourful history of the area and remains at the heart of the local community to this day.
There has been an Inn at Inchmore (the village also used to be called Bog Roy) for over 270 years. The Inn has provided food and shelter to diners and travellers through the years and has seen Inverness change from a sleepy highland capital to the vibrant, exciting young city it is today.
What hasn’t changed however is the magnificent scenery of the highlands around Inverness and the true Highland hospitality that complements it.
Whether you’re looking for a quiet drink, a nice meal or a comfortable overnight stay, you can be assured of the finest Highland hospitality at the Old North Inn.
There are 10 comfortable bedrooms all en suite with tea and coffee making facilities, telephone and TV. We have two family rooms, which can sleep up to four persons, 3 doubles, 3 twins and 2 singles.
All our rates include full Scottish breakfast. At The Old North Inn, we don’t believe in buffet breakfasts - our breakfasts are prepared and cooked freshly to your requirement.
We use the best of local produce, highland meats and fish, the best haggis and sausages from the famous Cockburn’s of Dingwall, Mackie’s ice creams, vegetables sometimes so local they actually grow in the field next to the Inn. Ales from the Isle of Skye, mineral water from a natural spring above Loch Ness and of course a carefully chosen selection of malt whiskies.
There is a well-established public bar at the Inn and this is not a ‘locals only bar’. Certainly there are many local, regular customers but they love to meet new people and are delighted extend a warm welcome. Many new friendships have been formed in the informal surroundings over a glass or two of beer or perhaps something stronger.
The bar has a full range of beers and whiskies and has a full size pool table.
