Scalford Hall is a picturesque Edwardian Country Mansion set in the rolling
countryside of Leicestershire. Its history includes time as a weekend hunting
lodge for Major Mann Thomson at the turn of the century to its purchase post
World War II by Colonel Coleman (Founder of Coleman’s Mustard).
During his ownership he was regularly visited by Edward and Mrs Simpson,
where they conducted much of their scandalous and publicised courtship. In fact,
Colonel Colman shared a great friendship with the King of England and this was
symbolised by the King's gift of an ornate fireplace that remains in the Hall today.
