Built in 1852 on the site of an earlier townhouse, the Royal Hotel commands a prominent situation directly opposite the former position of the town's Old Mercat Cross looking along Blairgowrie High Street.
Outwardly it retains the charm and character of early Victorian architecture. Internally, the Hotel has been renovated and tastefully refurbished to cater for the 21st century lifestyle and now offers outstanding facilities. All bedrooms are furnished to the highest standards, all have private facilities. The Glens' Restaurant presents an excellent standard of cuisine, the Lounge Bar offers a good selection of beers and a fine choice in malt whiskies.
Our Function Suite hosts weddings, special events and entertainments and our Conference Room proves an ideal venue for small public and business meetings. A Wireless Broadband signal is available throughout the building.
But, above all, this independent family-run hotel sets out to create a friendly atmosphere, best described as 'warm, relaxed and comfortable'.
Our restaurant, in which breakfast and dinner are served, uses the finest local ingredients, some from our own organic kitchen garden. There is a bar where light lunches are served (as well as on the lawn in fine weather) and two comfortable lounges (one smoking, one non).
Children of all ages are welcome, with high tea served for our youngest visitors, and we are also pet friendly (in a limited number of rooms), but dogs must be kept on leads both in the grounds and on areas of the hills where sheep may be grazing..
